Battle of the Bluegrass Equestrian Series
What we are:
A group of training/show facilites that have teamed up to allow competitors to work toward a year end award while attending those shows.

What we aren't:
An association, membership, or replacement to any Hunter/Jumper association. We highly recommend joining the Kentucky Hunter Jumper Association.

Requirements for Participating:

Open to ALL Age groups
NOT required to be a member of KHJA, but recommended

Division/Class Rules:


  • Class requirements follow those published by Kentucky Hunter Jumper Association ( http://www.khja.org )
How it works:

  • The series has a total of 7 events throughout Central and Northern Kentucky
  • Your TOP “5” performances will count toward Year End Awards (if you participate in more than 5 shows, the lowest performances will be dropped) but the more shows you attend gives you more opportunities to perform well
For year end awards your points are computed based on how you place against other riders/horses in the series, not all entries in the class. (Minimum of 3 shows to qualify for Year-End Award in a Division).

Points are tabulated based upon the number of  "nominated entries" in the class plus 1. First
place will receive point’s equal to the number of entries in the class plus 2 additional
points. Second through sixth place will receive points equal to the riders placing
subtracted from the number of points available for first place.

Three people in a class: 4, 2, 1
Four people in a class: 5, 3, 2, 1
Five people in a class: 6, 4, 3, 2, 1
Six people in a class: 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Seven people in a class: 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2
Eight people in a class: 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3
Nine people in a class: 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4
 

  • Not all shows will have all divisions available. We work closely with the show managers, but be sure to look at prizelists to see if your classes will be available at a particular show. Prizelists will be emailed out as soon as they are available.
  • There must be a minimum of  3 riders/horses nominated in a division for a year end award. Divisions that do not fill will have nomination fees returned within 10 business days after the 5th show’s points are received by the points secretary.
